News report on the crime. Never knew Wooster, OH had a coin show. Must be fairly small show which makes it more worrisome that it was targeted.

$100,000 coin heist suspects provide distraction while stealing
http://www.cleveland19.com/story/31...ile-stealing

Quote:
The items were taken from a vehicle after someone smashed out a window.

Police say six suspects appear to have been involved in casing the coin show, and ultimately the theft, as vendors were packing up to leave.

They believe four women created a disturbance in order to draw attention away from the victims' vehicle.

They were driving a 2009 Black Mazda sedan with Pennsylvania plate JJS 5785.

One of the women was identified by a Colombian Identification card as Marisol Garcia Celis, 45.

The two men that committed the actual theft are identified as white males driving a Chrysler mini-van, black in color, with a silver metal strip on the side and a luggage rack. The plate is unknown.

It is believed these suspects are out of the Pennsylvania or New York area and are targeting coin shows throughout the United States.

A similar parking lot coin theft occurred at the Perry, GA show in January. While it may not be the same perpetrators, this could foretell a trend.

Coin show organizers and attendees need to be wary ...

If you attend a show, leave nothing in your vehicle.

While the security folks may be busy inside, what is preventing the vendors at shows from teaming up when it comes to loading and unloading? Seems like a pretty simple thing to do.

What part of Targeted by Criminals and Easy Pickings don't vendors understand? If your neighborhood suffered the same level of coordinated robbery as coin shows you'd be carrying a Colt .45 to get the newspaper off of the front porch in the morning. Can't any two of them get together and watch the other?

Poor guy that's a lot of money to lose. Hopefully they find them and he gets it all returned.
