I find myself drawn to these, but am not sure why. After all, these represent DEFECTIVE planchets, and never should have been accepted by mint employees (perhaps bribery was involved, who knows).

Maybe the mint should recreate the woody effect on current cents somehow, and sell them at a premium.

I like the woodies as well, but nss, I believe the streaking wasn't noticeable when the coins were struck, but appeared as the coins toned at different rates based on the alloy mixture...I could be wrong, but I have never seen a full red woodie.

Edit to add:
If the mint makes new woodies, I will buy them
