Was in town today and the local LCS just got in some new Dansco Albums. Loved the way they looked and the way they are built. Had to pick one up. As this is my 1st I went with a simple Morgan dollars Date Set book. Think it is number 7171. Already got a dozen or so put in it. Looking forward to filling it up and upgrading a couple. This is gonna be fun.

I started with 7171 (Date Set), then migrated to 7178 & 7179 (Full Set) as I kept getting other Morgan dollars. You will have to keep us updated on your progress and pictures

Those Morgans are fun to collect, and there are so many ways to put together a collection: by dates, full sets, by grades, VAMs. Careful, it's addicting. I just got my first Dansco as well, 7184: Presidential dollars P&D, 2007-2015. It will be a challenge to find D's in Maryland, the NIFC dates, and especially dollars depicting those living presidents in the back of the album!

Congrats .... nice to see another join Team Dansco ... And excellent choice. The Morgan dollar date set is a album I recommend to many collectors wanting to start with the big dollars. Depending on the grades, there are just a few holes that can get a little high in price. 1893, 1895 and the CC empty holes come to mind. But with time and planning this is a set that can be done and be a jewel to any collection.

Great choice for your first! I'm filling my date Dansco with AU to MS examples with the obvious empty holes and filling the 2 volume complete set with (well) circulated examples to maintain aesthetic balance. Do keep us updated with your progress.

Ok got 1st page almost full. Average grade on page is MS63. The 1979 isn't MS but is Toned...thought it would make a good filler until I get a MS one. Also the 1882 is a slider but looks good enough to fill the spot IMO. I think it looks pretty impressive to me. My 1883 and 1885 are my PL coins. Is it recommended to store PL coins in this way? I do have another MS 1883 to put in its place but not an 1885 unless I break open a PCGS slab.

Thanks!I also have the Mint Mark section done as well. These are all lower(AU or lower) grade but does have the CC coin slot full with an 1890CC.. as well as a few other random years. Will take pics of those pages when they have less holes in them.

WOW~!! I have always stayed away from collecting Morgans but I think this particular album would be a good fit for me someday down the road once I get some of my other Dansco's completed. Thanks for sharing!
