I just couldn't wait to host my first giveaway contest here. I just love all the folks I am getting to know through this forum. The moderators are so patient and awesome, and it makes us new members feel comfortable and welcome. Nobody cuts anyone down, and nobody tries to intimidate others. It really does feel like a family to me. Thanks to everyone, new members and verterans alike.

So I can't help myself, I will always be looking for an excuse to do a giveaway on CCF.

This is officially my 100th post, and any member with a minimum of 50 quality posts can participate. The winner gets to choose one coin from a list of various dates of red BU Lincolns (1940's, 1950's, and 1960's).

I hope I didn't make this puzzle too easy; now we will find out.

Here goes:

I have singled out 4 coins from my collection. I have never posted anything about these 4 coins on this forum. I am going to give you 5 clues about these 4 coins. Then you must answer 1 question. The first to answer correctly is the winner.

Of the 4 coins, there is a brockage error, a proof, a DDO, & an NGC slab. between them, there are 4 denominations: 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c. And there are 4 unique dates: 1942, 1945, 1953, 1956.

All items listed above are in no relative order.

We are ignoring the mint marks for this game.

CLUES:

1.) The proof coin is a dime.

2.) The coin dated 1953 has twice the denominational value of the NGC coin.

3.) The slabbed coin is a 1956.

4.) The coin from 1956 is half the denominational value of the coin with the brockage error.

5.) The four coins are: the 1942, the brockage, the quarter, and the nickel.

The Million Dollar Question:

What is the value of the coin dated 1945?

Winner gets a red BU Lincoln! Have fun!

Rest in Peace

YNumismetals Collector.. your answer is correct! The answer is 5 cents.

Yeah, I only just realized the limitations I put on this one. 4 players max, eh? Watch out for next time, now. This one was an experiment.

(KenKat, that was funny..)

The available Lincoln dates to choose from are as follows:

WHEAT:
1944
1947-D
1947-S
1956-D
1957

MEMORIAL:
1859-D
1961
1961-D
1963-D
1964
1968-S

Send me an email with your address and the cent you selected.

Was it challenging enough?

Congrats, YN! You should take the 1859-D LMC.
Mamastinky- thanks for the contest. I missed it, but I'll keep an eye out for the next one.

By the way, the four coins are a 1942 proof dime, a 1945 DDO nickel, a 1953 half with a brockage and a 1956 NGC-slabbed quarter.

YNumismetals Collector, something makes me think it might be wise not to address your package to, "YNumismetals Collector." Do you want to send me another email with the name of an addressee?
