Looks like a nice coin except for the reed mark on the cheek. I could not bid on the coin because I could not get past the cheek mark.

Now I am regreting spending $300 on a WW2 USMC helmet AMAZING coin, even with that bag mark!

My first thought was 'liquid metal man' in Terminator 2. Yeah, with the PL and toning, it will probably end up over $300 easy.

That is a coin I would like to see in hand, before bidding on it.
Either way ... Much nicer than the one I have now

What a shame, gorgeous coin otherwise. Hard to imagine how it could have gotten such a deep gouge when the rest of the coin looks so nice.

Man if it didn't have that gouge I could've easily seen a ms63 coin. Too bad.

Quote: it will probably end up over $300 easy. Good prediction - ended at $306.61. The bag marks in the field under her chin bother me more than the "scar" on her face. For the record:

That's a good one. The Joker's smile. Is that a bag mark? It looks worse than that being a deep gouge. Is the coin a raw coin? 86-S is a pretty scarce coin and if the price were really right I could see buying it. I would rather have one in better shape and pay more for it.

Umm. I get the credit for the Joker joke thank you very much. Apparently the frog was the only one who got it though

I have looked at this thread ...and that coin .... over the last couple days.
The just seems to grow on me ... I could have a coin like this in my collection

Oh, sorry for not giving the credit you richly deserve. So three of us get the Joker joke including the Frog. Too bad we can't see the other side of the Lady's face to see if she has matching gouge to make a real joker. Are some of us developing a fetish over this Joker face coin?

I was just messing around lol. And every morgan colector for nearly 140yrs has pondered what the other half of that face would look like. This one, more so
