Does anyone here look for interesting serial number patterns aside from "fancies" that are popular amongst collectors? I like spotting serial numbers that have an interesting pattern even though they might not otherwise carry a premium. The possibilities are endless if you like this sort of thing. Here is one that I found recently that I think of as a "half repeater":

xxJOExx, you made me smile. You get points for 'half repeater' but, alas, no premium. And, yes, I do enjoy looking for patterns -- don't save them or anything -- I just like looking for patterns in the numbers.

You could probably find something "interesting" in any number. A mathematician once proved that there were no uninteresting numbers.
I forget the details, but let us suppose you have a list-there will be a lowest one. But now that number is "interesting" and so it goes.

Admit I look at them too - kind of a mild O/C thing.

O/C -- maybe. It fits with Asperger's just fine.

Would this be considered a "DOUBLE RADAR"?

"Double Radar" is a fun name -- so you get points for that, but alas, no premium.

Buddy - believe me, O/C (OCD) has little to do with true Asperger's, which we deal with in our family every day.

Coinfrog, no offense intended. I have no real knowledge about O/C -- but the other thing.... Anyway, if I don't step in it at least once in awhile it's because I've completely withdrawn -- or my routine/schedule got changed or somebody moved my coffee cup or ...well, you get the picture. Now, I'm off to search my notes for one with all prime numbers.

I think there are some of us out there that have little way we collect .. that don't make since.
Many might think my whole collection is that way.
AS for S/N numbers .. when I see a note that starts in "19" I put it away .... I know crazy right.
In the back of my mind I could put together a set from 1900xxxx through 1999xxxx.
