Just wow!

I'm not so impressed by the '73-D and '74-D and I'd love to see the '76 tI but every coin is virtually unimprovable.

I've got a better '74-D and I wager nicer '73-D's exist but the '76 tI is the real stopper for this set.

I don't know. 170k seems pretty cheap to me to transform the 1970's from inflation, war, and disco into some kind of golden age. Sure it was what it was and it wasn't very pretty but anyone looking at these coins can hardly help but be affected. The collector has taken a boring design of a bald president and turned it into something heroic on many levels. In some ways he has reminded us that there really were great things from that era.

You sure can't do that with an 1877 cent or a BU collection of bust half dollars.

Too late. Posting this from lock-up. Just kidding.

For the record, I would never do something that foolish. The second mortgage, that is.

The only thing that makes mine better is provenance. I mean, the "Jbuck Eisenhower dollar Collection" will be worth a fortune a century from now, amirite?

Silliness aside, it is a lovely set and if I had the means I would.

As listed, this averages to $6,538.46 per coin... pardon my ignorance on the series, but how overpriced is this? How many of these 26 would fetch that if sold singly?
Rest in Peace
