Sometimes you get lucky. Seller's ad stated coin was BU. Yeah, heard that one before....except, sometimes, it really is BU. Threw a bid out anyway based on pics and the fact that the previous owner had already (allegedly) attributed it. So here is an 1887 Morgan dollar. VAM 5, with doubling and clash. Not exactly a tough date, but man, she's pretty. Blast white with tons of luster and nary a speck of toning. Looks like an ASE in terms of how absolutely pristine the luster pops off the surface. A couple of tiny marks on the cheek, and an equally tiny scuff under the chin, but this is a LDS coin as it is...check out that flow around the reverse above STATES! Green marks on the pictures indicate clash locations. Thoughts on a grade welcomed. I think MS-63 at worst if a grader is having a really, really bad day and wants to take it out on a Morgan dollar, and possibly as high as a true BU MS-65 or even 65+ with that drop-dead-gorgeous luster. Based on your pics it looks 64 and maybe 64+. A 63 sounds too low and a 65 would be closer to the grade than 63. It certainly looks like it could grade 65 on a given day. The base of the jaw is the only questionable factor I see for gem vs near-gem.

Awesome. The fields on that coin are really something else.

Nice coin I'll also say MS-64. One time I bought an MS-65 1884-CC Morgan dollar for AU money because it was in a GSA "circulated" holder and the dealer thought that meant GSA had actually graded it. As it turns out, GSA just put any toned coin in a circulated holder.
