Seller's pictures but I thought that it was undergraded in the description. I love the things going on in the reverse. Clash marks and looks like a Struck Through Grease in the C of America. What do you all think it grades? I'll disclose what it said in description after this has been here for a while. Edited by kkirby99 07/31/2016 11:11 am

AU-53 or maybe 55 but with the surfaces so bright it might have been cleaned. It could just be the lighting in the photo but you might want to ask the seller for clarity.

"VF/XF details cleaned" in my opinion. Still a nice coin to have!

Plus: nice strong date, easy EF, maybe AU-50 detail; strong clash marks.
Minus: surfaces look dull from cleaning, especially the reverse and the eagle's breast.
I wonder about those streaks in the upper right obverse field. It almost looks like there are shallow scratches between some of the marks. Hopefully not.
The obverse rim beading looks good on the right rim of the coin but on the left the larger beads look like they have hollow centers (which would be weird). Maybe that's just the lighting.
This is an expensive and desirable coin in EF to AU grade and hopefully you scored a nice one.

AU, attractive despite the chatter to the right of liberty, possibly details.

Agree AU, probably cleaned. May I ask what's going on in the upper right obverse field - those look like cuts.

It was graded as VF. The streaks appear to be dark streaks of color. I've got a Morgan with what appears to be the same type of streaks. On the Morgan they are not scratches or cuts. I won't know about this until I get coin in hand. With what I paid for it I'm going to be OK with it even if they are more than just streaks. If they are just streaks I got a really, really good deal. I'm thinking they're artifacts left from a dip. Sometimes you just take a chance

Thanks. On review, I went too high on this - looks more like EF-40 tops.

It looks very dull and lifeless and mushy. Perhaps we can see pics when it is in-hand and out of the mylar. Its got nice details but it seems harshly dipped.

but the clash marks are very cool and the AMERI(C)A is a neat looking strike issue. So regardless of surface originality, its got plenty of character with those variants.
