What is the best way to buy form the bank? Just go in and ask for them to order a box of Half Dollars (can I specify Kennedys) and search them or is it something that they will have on hand?

My bank had some older silver coins last time I inquired and was very happy to get some Silver halfs and dollars at face value.

Yes Zisky, most banks can/do order boxes of coinage for their customers. It will usually take a week or so to get the boxes but you get them at face value. All of my local banks (New Mexico) can still order half dollars. I usually start by asking the teller, but sometimes they will refer me to someone else. Occasionally they don't know how to order the boxes, but inevitably someone else in the bank will show them how to do it. You can only order half dollars (can't specify Kennedy), but that's OK because if you do get older coins you can resell them for way over face value. Half dollars come in $500 boxes. Best of luck! I don't do it too often, and I have not found much silver, but I have filled out a couple folders/albums.
