SuperGrafx is looking for individual Air-Tite Holders with rings of various sizes. He posted in the Post Your Numismatic Want Lists Here subforum:

https://goccf.com/t/264890#264890

But I do not have 250 posts so I cannot respond to his post. Since he bumped up his post b/c no one had answered yet, i.e., he's really looking for a solution, I thought I would post a response here.

One can purchase individual Air-Tite Holders directly from the company:

http://www.airtiteholders.com/store..._a_Ring.html

The correct size holders for your American Eagle Gold Coins are listed at the bottom of this page:

http://www.airtiteholders.com/united-states.html

---

Now, a question: Is it generally accepted amongst experienced coin collectors that Air-Tite Holders with Rings are safe for all coins?

Here is what the company says about the holders:

Quote:
These holders are made of acrylic plastic with a non-yellowing agent. The end product is two, highly durable, crystal clear pieces (cover and base) that snap together. The rings are made of an inert cross linked polyethylene and serve a couple of purposes; it secures the coin in the holder, creates a barrier against air contamination and in the end presenting an attractive border to accent the coin. Color choices for the rings are black or white and the holders and rings are PVC FREE which will provide superior long-term protection for your collection.

Jake's coins and Wizard also sell individuals. I did some research before buying 500 to house my Lincolns and Jeffersons and Jake's was the least expensive (even over the airtite manufacturer) for bulk. Can't say with confidence about individuals, but check them out.

I have some direct fit singles for AGEs the member can have if he/she can have if they can wait the couple weeks you till I am home again.

Thanks Fuzzy - mighty kind of you. :O)

Biedercoins - Thanks for the tip on Jakes. I haven't bought any Air-Tite holders yet, so that's really good to know.

BTW the rings are made of polyethylene (PE) which is about as inert as any plastic out there.

The problems come from the plasticizers used to make PolyVinylChloride (PVC) soft enough to use.

Air-tites are the best-value, last-layer protection you can buy IMO. When combined with ziplock bags, desiccant and tupperware you have "as good as it gets" protection.
