Luckily I only have $35 in this coin, but I was a little bit too hasty to press Buy-it-Now.

Hopefully it's an alloy issue, and not a stain. Maybe if it's a good return policy........we all make mistakes.

Ugh! Return it, sellers are usually understanding on bin returns.

IDK - it might be a strike through. ;)

Honestly, if you noticed this defect after paying for it and are planning on returning it as others are suggesting to do, you should have asked the seller to cancel the transaction. That would save the seller shipping costs. Not that that is what you are intending to do...just sayin'.

I think I will just keep it. If I don't like it in hand, I'm fairly sure I can get my money back by reselling it.

It's mid-grade AU, so not bad at all for the price, even with the issue.

The 2 in the date looks odd; is that the correct shape for a genuine example of this coin?

The tail on the 2 looks slightly thick, but could be just a variation. I was surprised to see such a stylized base line, but it looks legit. http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/2064

The question to ask yourself is whether the next person you sell it to will buy it with that gouge on the obverse. I'm very particular, and I wouldn't buy it even if it is cheap.
