Sorry to hear that your coin is misplaced. Don't give up on it! You may still come across it.

Have you checked your camping gear? Maybe it slipped out of your pocket while you were unpacking the gear and it fell into a piece of equipment.

Good luck!

OH my friends, it's like my lost child has come home.

My wife found it while I was at work.

In the dryer after cleaning some camping gear.

It had a good wash and dry, but no additional scratches.
Much more shine then it had previously.

I knew if I posted this post it would show up..and if I hadn't posted this post...it would be still out in limbo.

Maybe I should drill a hole in it and wear it as a necklace.

Glad you found it!

I would not hole it, but this is just my opinion.

You can try this
Peace dollar
Morgan dollar
Quarter dollar
Mercury dime
each has their own leather sheath and then I put it in a leather pouch which I hook onto my belt, so of you do it with your coin it will be more difficult to lose it again.

Sorry to hear about your pocket-piece. What a horrible gut-wrenching sense of loss.

My first PP was a 1941 quarter, but after a couple of weeks I replaced it with a 1986 Statue of Liberty $1 proof (impaired). There were too many times where I almost spent the 1941, that's why I went to the silver $. You cannot mistake it for anything else.

I still get comments from store clerks when I pull out all my change and they see this huge silver coin among the other coins.

I hope you find your Columbus soon.
