The word "fake" spring to mind. Or maybe "fantasy" as it appears to be a stylised rendition of a cob coin, letters turning into squiggles.

@dbranch, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes I agree with @oriole that you most likely have a so-called pirate token. These are made for pirate-themed parties and can be purchased inexpensively in bulk. They are stylistically similar to cob coins of the Spanish Empire. Here is an example of a real coin:

Hello and welcome.

This particular replica is one we've seen on the forum several times before - it's the kind of "coin" that often causes confusion. Here's one that someone posted last year.

It is indeed a replica of a Spanish "pirate coin", although the design appears to have been copied from memory, or perhaps from a fuzzy picture of one, rather than copied from an actual coin. The crown at the top of your second picture has morphed into an "owl face", for example.

We've never worked out where these particular replicas came from, but given the number of them that seem to be out there, they must have been mass-produced. I'm guessing they were probably sold as souvenirs from a "pirate-themed" tourist trap, or perhaps given away by Reader's Digest with a book on pirates.

Thank all of you for your help. I was told a coin collector had brought a bunch of coins to an old school that torn down near me. He had a few fall behind an old radiator at the school. When it was torn down my dad found it. So I just wanted to see if anybody here could help. I value and appreciate you're help as I didn't know if it was authentic. Thank you again for your help. Much appreciated.
