to CCF, Jakeful7! What leads you to believe this might be an error? It looks struck off-center but not enough to make a difference. edit: I see from another post that you commented in that you may think this is a Double Die. I think I see some doubling but it's hard to say for sure from that photo. Can you take a sharper one that's more brightly lit?

Boy, I sure would like to see some close-ups of the devises, esp., IGWT, Liberty and the reverse as well. I see some doubling but can't tell for sure. If you can get close-ups, take the coin out of the holder first.

It's probably an image size problem - I had the same issue when I first started posting. Somebody sent me to the tutorial page & that's where I'm going to start: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...g-images.aspIf this doesn't help, maybe coop has some of his graphics that might do it. I think he's going to want to chime in on this anyway.

If you're talking about the little blob in the first nine, that looks like a die chip (a little piece of metal from the die broke off). I do, however, think I can see some doubling. It's probably nothing, but like others have said we need better pictures to be sure.

It is not the big DDO for that year. Even at this distance you can tell it is not. Why? Look at an image at the same distance and compare them? Note the motto (IN GOD WE TRUST), LIBERTY and date. Yours is not doubled anything like the big one. There was a lot of machine damaged coins during the 1968-1972 years that should severe MD, but this is a striking issue. With a doubled die, the die is doubled. The creation of a doubled die doesn't occur during the strike, but because of the die that is doubled. Thus the term 'doubled die.

Coop - that's a stock photo right? I was going to say, if that was one that you made physical copies of or were posted here, I would be extremely surprised.

to the forum. If you have 2 light sources on that coin try turning one off and as said before definitely not the big one I think I see some Die Deterioration but hard to tell
