*** Edited by Staff to remove YELLING. All capital letters is the internet version of yelling. Please don't do it in titles or posts. ***at first I though this was a dinged up quarter, and started looking at it for the washer wear and aging for learning. As I looked closer I thought maybe there were die errors possibly Misaligned die ? strike error (don't know what kind to label/guess, broad ? clash/counter clash the strike lines are visible in hand from 3-6 / from 9 to 11? and around 12 at the top of Washington's head. the "tiger claw" and the strike line at 9-11 appear to be from the eagles wings but not the 3-6 line. their is an impression on his face (kind of like a rose bud that really appears to come from the back but I can't determine what . diameter of coin is correct ,it is reeded and where it is not is from the clip like marks, their is also " Cud like?" pieces on the rim as well in a few spots. on the obverse the most noticeable spot is on the eagles left wing (the darker spot in photo) which appears reeded. their is a faint almost complete circle around the entire interior. obvisouly lettering and rim of coin. please let me know what you guys think, not looking to hear this is an amazing coin just hoping that I've picked up on at least 1 correct identification error (like I said for learning) Edited by CoinMom4 09/21/2016 9:05 pm

If you crop the pictures they would be easier to see.

Coin masters I am going to work on getting better quality quality and cropped pics. GR58 thanks, I know with the poor pics that it's hard to see any of what I'm showing and I'm sure it's probably all PMD, I def thought so at first too. But I do really thing their is clash after I have looked / researched and looked more at it.

Not much to see other than the coin damage. Even one ding/scratch on a coin can turn the coin into a cull to a collector. When going through coins, I toss all coins that are damaged, dark looking, bent or nasty looking. I only search and save coins that someones else would buy. Damaged, tossed back into circulation without a look. Why waste my time on something that no one would buy?

OK hope these pics are of better quality to see what I'm talking about.
COOP I was hoping you would see this, I actually watched your video on coin fishing errors like 4 times, I'm a very auditory learner.
Like I said before I'm not expecting anything from this coin or hoping for anything amazing. just want to learn and hoping that I have something more to see here than just one thats been dropped down the disposal.
Looking forward to the input now that there are better pics

That's what I figured. Just really trying to learn and use this one for studying what's what.

Mucho better pics! The biggest thing you can learn from this coin is what not to look for. A coin is opposite of the die that struck it. If something on the die is in raised - it is in relief on the coin, and vice versa. PSD (Post Strike Damage) usually leaves recessed marks on the coin, like scratches, nicks, gouges, etc. Now, if they are raised on the coin - they more than likely came from the die. Probably about 98% of valuable Varieties and Errors are valuable because of what the die did to them, whether incuse or in relief.

Quote: Bathtub pics believe it or not. (Best lighting in the house) So would the same hold true for counter clashes then ? Some of my best counter clashes were taken in the bathtub. I'm still recovering from my last one. Last images are great. Thanks, Doug.
