*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***So in a recent ebay purchase the seller swapped out the described 'beautiful' and 'stunning' proof coin for one that is badly discoloured and damaged. Has No Returns set. So opened an Item not as Described case requesting a return under the ebay Money Back Guarantee. It was almost immediately rejected by ebay as 'the coin isn't a graded coin'. Will put through an appeal tomorrow (which they don't make easy of course but you can eventually get done). Just thought I would reiterate the warnings about buying from sellers with No Return policies...

Quote: 'the coin isn't a graded coin' ...and we do not have eyes. Sheesh! From what you described, all they have to do is look at pics of the advertised coin and the coin you received. Thanks for the reminder about "No Returns" sellers. A very important point.

I find this rather offensive. ebay policies essentially allow legalized cheating.

I too will never do business with a seller that does not offer returns . To me that's a big red flag .

Good luck with your appeal kuh!
You would think it would be easy if the seller does not send the coin advertised. Thanks for the warning.

File a "significantly not as described" dispute via paypal and supply images from the listing and images of the coin received

there is no such thing, as no returns..a seller can say that, but they have to accept a return, if a customer requests it..or they have to offer a refund or partial refund without getting the coin back..no such thing as no returns accepted..they can say it they just can't enforce it..

Yeah, I'd fight that one. Just do due diligence, and you'll probably win. Seller doesn't want neg feedback. Bait and switch is a no no. Just put that in your feedback comment If paypal is attached to a credit card, you can also fight it that way.

@silverwolf - the point here is that isn't true. ebay has backed the seller and refused the return request because it's 'not a graded coin'. Took them all of about 5 minutes to make that decision. Also note that there are NO exceptions listed in ebay's description of their money back guarantee however they have quoted a specific exception to justify their decision. @edweather - Seller already has the negative feedback on those specific items. Is working hard on getting more for the rest of the items in the order as well though Never got the promised call back from ebay this morning so will try one more time this evening and then the next call is to the credit card as you say. @trout1105 - will try to do that this evening

If he won't take back the wrong item then hammer him with a negative feedback.

So are you saying you already left negative feedback for the item you started this post on?

Well, good luck. Certainly buying without return privileges is not a goo idea, but ebay's position on this is way out of line from my experiences.

Pictures would help but if it is as you described, I would be clear to tell ebay that you believe you received a different coin than was pictured - i.e., not the same coin.
