I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong section. I'm sure it is a variety of some sort. I'm still learning the acronyms and what they mean. That and I'm half asleep and in a coin searching fog--apologies. Can you lock and link me to the correct section please? Many thanks!

I moved this thread out of the variety section, an easier method. In the future, if you think a thread needs to be moved, click on the link "Send note to Staff". Those notes get the attention of the staff members.

If your Dad gave it to you keep it. Just an ordinary wheat but, not a bad one but it came from your Dad so, it should be worth something to you.

Nice keepsake from your dad. If the color is true in your pics it might have been cleaned. John 1

Save it for a few years, then pair it with a 2020 cent.

Thank you everyone. I guess it probably has been cleaned. It is now the oldest coin I own. Yes, it will always have a memory attached to my dad since he's the one who gave me the coins to search through. I Treasure my father, always.

I got a bunch of 1919's from my Dad - it was his birth year. They will never be worth a fortune in my lifetime but old coins are neat. Think about all this penny of yours may have been through since it was made. Looks like it circulated and was used to keep the economy going. Pocket shine or deliberate cleaning doesn't matter if you like it and you do have a great story attached to it. Who knows, you may pass it on years from now and enjoy someone else getting the same thrill of owning a little piece of history.
