I have a 2008D Hawaiin coin and at the top date(1959)there is some type of flaw at the bottom of the 5. Its large enough to catch with the finger nail. Also it appears to not be centered. FYI this is a normal coin and not gold. Sorry about that. Please let me know something.

Emsallen, Welcome to the forum. I think we will need a close up of the date are you are speaking of, also note your image is on the darker side, so if you could move into some better light to take the picture that would help.

People may also ask for an image of the full quarter, both sides.

cheers

I agree a closer picture would help.

I did expand the picture the best I could on my IPad.

I have a feeling it is just a die chip. Imagine a small part of the
die chips. After that every coin minted on that chipped die will
Have a raised spot where the die is chipped.

This is common, and for small chips brings no value to the coin.

I was able to enlarge the pic on my computer and it does appear to be a tiny die chip.

Good eye.

Keep hunting.

No need to be sorry.
Best way to learn is make post and ask questions.

Most of us like seeing pictures of coins ...

I think most of us offer opinions and suggestion ..to be helpful

Or at least hope we are ...helpful
