Joe ... from what I have seen the last several years. Most don't do any
research.
Some will sort coins. Like put wheat cents into envelope or baggies
by year.
Some will make a inventory of every coin, with prices they looked up online.
Of course most have no idea of grading. So prices are often from the right
side of the price guide .. but when we see the coins ..they should be looking
at prices from the left sided.
Sometimes it is a older wife, who ends up with her passed husbands collection.
We had that today. Has a lot of coins. She would bring some in, ask
about what their worth. Take those coins to the car and bring in more.
Many of the coins she has, the value are tied to silver or gold prices.
She was torn over whether to sell now .. or wait for prices to go up.
Then worried prices will go down. Very hard for us, with customers
like this. We would not want to tell her what she should do. We would
not want to tell her the price will go up or down ...
She did not sell today ... but she will be back.
