First... this is not a thread to discuss PCGS/NGC over ANACS. That has been covered many times. Now if someone has some inside information about the company being sold, and how it might affect submissions. I am open to hearing that. ------------------------------ I thought I would attempt to do a thread on the submission process. The actual process is very similar. I plan on sending some coins in tomorrow morning. It will take approximately a month before I hear grades and the coins get sent back. Please ask questions if I miss something. You can print the submission form online. http://www.anacs.com/ Select your coins and fill out the form. When you have question, calling ANACS works for me.

Next step ANACS, and I know NGC does too, wants coins submitted in 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 SAFLIP flips. I get mine from Wizard coin supply They also want you to number each flip, with the corresponding line number from the submission form. For example - First coin I have on the form is a 1851 Half Cent. It will be labeled #1.

They then ask you to rubber band the coins together

Next, wrap the coins with the submission form. I will put in some packing peanuts. I use a flat rate USPS shipping box. I do have a connection so I use private insurance. If you decide to make a submission you may have to check out how you will insure. Others CCF members might have some suggestions. Also on the box ANACS ask to write the special name on the outside of the box. .. This special is Fall Frenzy

This is where I am at so far .. Pretty much just print label and take to the post office. I hope this will help some that are interested in submitting coins to a TPG. Please ask questions if you got them.

Thanks Dave ..
Just hoping to help those members that might be wondering how the process works ...
Even if they don't want to submit to ANACS ..NGC is very similar.

Agreed - a very good post. I personally have little use for the TPGs at present, but this is a handy, easy to follow guide.

Very easy process it appears as you have described GR. I think for anyone that has not submitted coins before (like myself) you have done a great job to show this process is quite simple. Thank you.

Thanks all. Just trying to help out I did forget to post a picture of the Safeflips. They are what they want the coins shipped to them in. I am sure they will take them in 2X2 flips, but might asked you in the future to use the 2 1/1 X 2 1/2. There is a link on ANACS web site about how to submit coins. And a FAQ section. On there I think it talks about these flips and maybe about using AirTites. For sure no 2X2's with staples

Just to keep this thread updated.
Logged onto my ANACS account. Show that they logged my coins in at 1:43 PM on 10/31 Expected return shipped date 12/05. (Just a guess on the date)
If you plan on sending coins into ANACS for grading. It is a good idea to set up a account with them. The account lets you track you submission. And having a account will get you emails that let you know what the monthly specials are, and sometime other specials are offered to those with accounts.

I wrapped my coins in bubble wrap and tape on one submission to ANACS and upon their return the note stated "Please do not tightly wrap submissions" or something to that extent. I guess They didn't want to cause any damage to the coins while trying to cut the tape and bubble wrap.

This is off the ANACS web site Quote: How should I package my coins when sending them to ANACS? We always suggest that you place each coin in its own Mylar flip. (You can purchase Mylar flips from your local coin shop or on the Internet.) We suggest 2 ½ X 2 ½ crown size Mylar flips. Always remove the coins from any cardboard flips they might be in and always be careful when removing any staples. Write the line number from the submission form on the flip with a felt marker. This will help expedite your order. Wrap the coins so they will not slide out of the flip. Do not use staples or paper clips. Pad the coins/flips with tissue or styrofoam and place them in an appropriate size box. We recommend that you follow the "Rule Of Two," by packaging your coins in two containers, such as a padded envelope inside of a box.
