And, no, this has nothing to do with any human bodily proportion! I often advise folks to buy what they love. I've been searching for a 1938-D WLH that I really loved for a long time. As I'm approaching the completion of my book #7 this was still the big one I needed to complete that series. I collect by date, rather than by series, and book #7 is my last book in my collecting for the dates 1935-1964. I still need three more coins to complete that, but I continue my search for those three. Here is the 1938-D that I fell in love with:

Some distracting chatter on obverse . Reverse is beautiful . Full mint luster both sides , gorgeous breast feathers on this low mintage example .

What a beautiful coin! I don't even know what my best would grade out, but nowhere near this gem. 38-D is one of my dad's favorite coins. Thanks for sharing

I organize my collection by date, as I enjoy seeing coins that were issued in the same year grouped together. Just putting them together by series is a bit boring to me, since a bunch or the same type isn't as attractive to me. I use the 9 pocket pages for my TPG, 12 pocket pages for dollars, and 20 pocket for the remaining denominations that are raw. Although this doesn't give a perfect flow with some dates on different types of pages, the same dates are within a page of one another. When my 1935-1964 book is complete ill be sure to show some pages. I'm still looking for a 1937-D WLH in 65, a 1942-S WLH in 66, and a 1935-S Peace in 64. They are all available, but I haven't loved any of those three that I've found. That's the very long way of answering that I don't crack coins I love out of the slab. If I love the coin I am happy to keep it as found.

A bit surprised, given the chatter in the right obverse field and skirt, but apparently the blow-out luster carried the day, and I must agree - great example.
