Obverse detail suggests perhaps EF-40, reverse appears a lower grade.. Looks to have been cleaned, apparently before it was lost, which seems odd, or perhaps that's just a lighting issue. I would say value is $20-25 or so. Nice find in any event!

Careful cleaning these up, kills a lot of the value. Awesome find though.

VF details - cleaned. $15 to $20 is what I think it should sell for.
FYI... This should be posted in the Classic grading section, not modern

Very difficult to say without the coin in hand. As shown it does not look like a typical dug coin, and I say this with nearly 50 years of metal detecting.

when I pulled it from the ground today I thought the exact same thing. I have never seen a silver coin come out as clean as it did I dug 20 min for this as it was under some roots of a big tree in the middle of a old farm house. I pulled some other older silver out and a few indian heads. it was down around 6 inches what are the chances that this coin was not burried as long as I thought it was

I believe it was buried a long time. I've pulled silver (detecting in New Jersey and New York) and after a light wash in water it would be a bright un-natural white. Whenever I dig old silver, I let it sit a few days or 2 in a window sill before washing. Great find notwithstanding!

Indeed a great find, and I guess it's best that it's a common date for the series. Value will not be that different however we grade it.

I did not say before ... how cool it is to dig old silver. I have dug many hundreds of silver coins .. but not many older than say 1900. Finding Seated coins is always a thrill ... Also it is very hard for a older coin to have lived in the ground, to not have some issues. Most will end up having a cleaned look or Environmental damage. Congrats on making such a good find
