let me know how you guys would grade this 1808, S-277, '12 star' cent.
It is a very late die state, state VII.
The clash marks the obverse and extensive die breaks on the reverse are typical of the die state.

Thanks in advance,

Obverse: Vf 25 pushing a 30
Reverse: Xf 40 pushing a 45
Reverse again: Large die crack running across the coin.

i have one in VF25 and this is much nicer. I think it would net at VF35. I was told that the 12-star carries a 50% premium. very nice early piece

I'm going to break from the crowd here. Subdued luster, along with a little cartwheel action still present. Combine that with the fact that this die was completely shot. This means weakness in the strike. I'm gonna come in at EF-45. Very nice coin!

That is a superb example. Solid VF30. I'd greatly enjoy having this one.

That you all very much for your opinions. Very much appreciated.

This is a coin which was a bit difficult for me to grade due to the advanced die state. This needs to be taken into account.
All in all, with your opinions plus comparison with similar examples on-line I grade this at VF35.

Very happy with this addition to my large cent collection!
