The proof ASE is tentatively scheduled between Jan 1 and March 31st

The W is scheduled for release between April 1 and June 30th which is the same quarter that the Liberty medal is to be released (225th Annie)

Quarter after that has the "225th Enhanced Uncirculated Set" listed

Note: the above is from a CoinNews article....CoinWeek has the W and proof releases reversed so time will tell. Personally I will go with the Proof in Q1

The mint could have minted 750,00 of these back in say May and shelved them until now because of all of the products this year.

So if you think that they just started minting them last week after the Gold Walker went on sale and think that there are only 5 week left to mint them and there will only be 50,000 of them and you go and buy 50 on opening day because you think they will appreciate you are falling victim to their plan.

And everyone complains about all of the coins the Canadian mint puts out each year. This year was out of control for the US Mint.

Buy what you like, not what you think will make you rich.

Yup...possible but I think the reason for the late release is an issue with properly getting the edge inscription on the coins which is unique to an ASE.

I'm not saying there were only 100k minted but just that there will NOT be any additional coins struck after 12/30.

Even more interesting is the Annual Dollar Set which comes out the middle of December...init1al packaging of those is all you will get.

I buy VERY few Mint issues even though there are many I like i.e. the recent gold issues and the silver commems. I DO buy what I think has price increase potential...making someone of my buying caliber "rich" though is a stretch.

I try to figure out what MAY be interesting issues with reasonably low potential (or declared) mintages (like the recent medal that my "friends" and I bought a bunch of).

This MAY be an interesting issue or not. Not a big deal if it's not but it does detract from the cold, crap weather we have been having

BTW: the pre-sale 70's are selling for less than $70 (PCGS) so there WILL be big first week numbers

Edited to add: I found one company that has over 2000 graded 69 & 70 W's available for pre-sale

I'm in line for my 2 W's.

Kind of looking forward to the back-to-back (-ish) releases as my CAPS ASE album will get 4 coins in the space of about 6 months. 5 with the 2017 bullion issue.

My enrollment order for 3 Uncirculated ASEs just posted. I scaled back to 3 of these and 2 of the Uncirculated Dollar sets for a total of five ASEs. Order # USS11315XXX. Apparently the mint isn't offering its free budget shipping promotion on orders of $100 or more on enrollment orders since they charged me the standard $4.95 shipping fee.

I have heard speculation that this and the proof with the edge lettering may be considered commemoratives and thus go off sale at the end of the year.

If that happens boy will these be low pop or what!
