Trying this site out after stumbling acroos it while searching for some coin info ( Lincoln Memorial penny) and decided to ge it a shot. Hopefully it'll be worth it compared to the time spent so far. If someone could point in the direction to go, would be awesome and if not thats understandable as we all get busy from time to time. So without further ado, here goes.... I found a penny that has definitely got me stoked an I am not finding anything like it at all, (maybe I haven't looked hard enough?) and so I'm needing some guidance from the pro's. Please turn me into the proper direction and if you could mayb help identify this oddball. 1988 Lincoln with two separate dates. Not sure if its 88, 89, or maybe even 86? who do I talk to? where do I find more info? what do you suggest I do with it? why not...,right?

and Once the photo is posted, somebody will tell you what you've got. Also, there are some very dedicated error coin experts here -- I am not one of them. But you will get honest and helpful responses. Can't wait to see it!

Please do not do that, it will just get removed. You are fine. I moved the topic to where it should get you an answer. No problem. You did nothing wrong. This might help... Uploading PhotosFree Image Optimizer

Welcome to the CCF Jason. First off, it's been harshly cleaned and the only thing that crosses my mind is dropped numbers. It's in reverse..hmm.

You have a damaged coin that is suffering from zinc rot. The last number of the date has been obliterated by zinc rot. As for the date that appears on the west side of the obverse, that was pounded into the coin by another coin and is just more damage. The reverse is also damaged. So, it's still worth one cent, but it will eventually rot away. Not great news, I guess. Your pics came out great!
