I hesitate to purchase raw, better-date Morgan dollars due to the risk of picking up a fake, but this coin looked OK to me. It has the right weight for a well-circulated Morgan (26.14 grams), is non-magnetic, and the color looks good. I tentatively ID it as VAM-1 for the date, or the "normal" dies. What are your opinions on authenticity, grade, and/or VAM number? Thanks for your input!   |

I would argue that a coin with these features would be nearly impossible to fake. What made you pause on this coin?

Authentic VG-10 that is almost sneaking up on a 12.
I like this coin. Natural tone for this grade and no hint of cleaning or dipping.
