Buddy,

Here is a link to the auction and the seller has a photo #5 of the PCGS verification in the listing. Interesting comment by seller "Please do not bid on item if you do not intend on paying". Looks like the seller has sold fakes before and the buyer's refused to pay. -see link below-

ebay should bounce the seller of the fake coin. It appears that the seller picked up the cert number 32630466 from the genuine coin that is currently for sale on ebay. -See Link Below-

The real coin is nice but the seller says "Starting price is well below the PCGS price guide and the dealer wholesale price!" and is asking $4495 with a PCGS Price Guide of $4500. Woo, $5 off the Guide!

The highest price this year at Heritage was $4,112.50 (including buyer premium) and that coin is just shy of proof-like.

Well, it sold for $200.86.

Comparing the two slabs, I noticed that the UPC bar codes don't match. Just look to the far right section. It's not even close.

Just sad that someone wasted money on that fake -- and some day they will probably try to sell it ... ...

There's an online vendor selling these counterfeits for less than $70 each. Claims they're 90% silver, and has 999,991 in stock. Here's the image of the obverse; note the PCGS cert. #:

Wow, if I had $70M in coins to liquidate I would surely turn to internet sales...and I like the blurred out 'PCGS'. That's trustworthiness in action.

On the authentic Morgan @ Slider posted look at the top of the cert itself. It's corners are slightly rounded. On the fake slab the certs look like they are cut straight like a paper cutter would cut them. And yes, can't typically buy a $4,000 plus Morgan for $400.

.
Shafb

it takes months/years to fine-tune ones eyes to detect this stuff. I recommend looking at least thousands of high quality images of authentic coins. I used coin facts and google images A LOT my first 1-2 years in numismatics.

you will notice that our coinage was/is made with highly talented people/machinery.

devices are thick, edges are crisp/sharp, color/hue is fairly consistent with each metal.

you can tell quality material and machinery was/is used for our coinage; even going back to 1793.

we are leaving errors out of this conversation because of the vast amount of exceptions they create.

thanks for sharing and showing us new pics.
