Does anyone here have a PCGS submission that has taken 6 months? my collector club submission is approaching 6 months. Called a couple weeks ago and they said they would be shipped that week! Not! They told me everything was OKa....now all I can get is their voice mail box...no reply last time......Is it time to worry?

Maybe they are off early for the holidays? I haven't heard anything about them going under but they are pretty reputable. I'm sure they would return items if they were closing their doors.

Six months does seem to be a very long time. How many notes were in the submission? The longest I have ever had to wait is a tad over 3 months.

Right now, I'm sure the holiday season has taken over and no one is there.
Try again after Monday, and see what you find out.
When I hear this type of thing I'm so glad I stick with NGC.

My last two submissions both took around six months. Collector's Club submissions are processed in low priority.
Just the way it works.
I wouldn't be too concerned about them not being in the office during the Christmas & New Year's time frames. Everybody likes some time off with family and friends.

Seems a heckofa way to run a business, eh? PCGS is a component of a NASDAQ traded company, Collectors' Universe, symbol CLCT. The revenue was only around $17 million last quarter. The income after taxes was $1.9 million, and they had about $10 million in cash. I bought a few shares in2015 but sold it after a couple of months. Management reported that they are starting to grade coins in China, and have a contract to provide grading services for several years for a coin dealer in that country This information is readly available over the internet. So yes, they were recently filing reports with the SEC, and it seems they were were profitable. But their slow turnaround leaves a lot to be desired and requires management's attention.

China was already producing plenty of PCGS slabs. Why would they need the real thing?

Quote: PCGS is a component of a NASDAQ traded company, Collectors' Universe, symbol CLCT. This is true if you are talking about PCGS on the coin side. If we are talking about PCGS paper currency grading, then PCGS is not part of Collectors Universe. Jason Bradford bought the rights to the name more than half a dozen years ago or more, and it is a separate company. Collectors Club submissions, monthly specials, and economy submissions can take way longer than you expect. Recently, I have seen PCGS (coin side) grading World paper money in a very similar holder.

Thank you all for the replies...I'm going with Westernsky, and hoping they will get to me soon...This is obviously a currency submission, and I have used NGC PCGS and ANACS on the coin side....I had great luck with PCGS...They did a great job and their customer support was great...I was very disappointed in ANACS...But that's just me!

Six months? That is way too long, priority or not. That is no way to run a business.

Both of my last PCGS CURRENCY Collector's Club submissions took 6 months to be completed and returned.
They may be slow, but the wait was worth it for me.
