I am at a predicament at the moment.
I want to sell 4 rolls worth of 1954 Korean War Nickels to someone on Craigslist (They are selling coins, and I want to sell coins to them so they can sell them).

Each nickel is in a little plastic bag made of polyethylene to stop further wear, and these bags cost 1.7 cents each.

The average grade of these nickels is VF-20.

I want to sell these coins to this dealer at a price that he could sell them for profit and I can make profit evenly (Well, first off, I got the rolls for face at a bank). What should be the price?

Korean War Nickel? You are joking, no? WWII nickels are so designated due to silver content. And the Korean War ended in 1953. Your coins are fron 1954. I am confused by your post.

You might want to start by finding out of the dealer is interested in purchasing 4 rolls of circulated 1954 nickels.

Welcome to Canada

WWII Canadian nickels are:
-1942-43 Tombac (.88 copper .12 zinc) (worthless metals)
-1944-45 Chrome-plated steel (worthless metals)
-1943-45 had a fancy V for Victory design

Korean War Canadian Nickels:

-1951-1954 Chrome plated steel with regular Beaver design (Worthless metal)
-'54 wasn't during the war, but still considered to be Korean War due to influence

nfine they say "serious inquiries only", so I want the price first before hand. Plus I've always been curious as to what they are worth.

How quickly do you want these sell? 160 low grade common nickles will likely be a tough sell.

I would make 3 piles, first for VF35 and lower, second for XF40 - AU58, third for MS.

First pile gets sorted into larger lots, maybe by the roll and sold in bulk, maybe 2-3x face if lucky, but probably FV.
Second pile, range from $0.50-$2.00 and as individuals
Third, 50% trends

Honestly I doubt they will want to give you anything for 4 rolls of roughly VF 1954 nickels. If you're lucky a dealer might offer 4-5 bucks a roll.

There doesn't seem to be too many high-grade ones, if any.

At full VF20 trend price according to J&M you've got $80, you have to split the "profit", and you have to find 160 buyers. Am I missing something? Doesn't seem worth a whole lot of effort. If I just wanted to get rid of them I'd say $20.

I say you would be lucky to get face value for these coins. After all, what you have are circulated, common date coins made of a base metal. If a dealer bought your coins all he would do is throw them in his junk bin, where the price would be marked something like 3 or 4 coins from this box for $1...and even at that price it's a difficult sale for the dealer.

You'd be doing good at $20.
I saw some in a junk bin last week 5 for $2.
There was quite a layer of dust on top, not big sellers, I didn't even want to get my hands dirty looking for a '54 NSF or some '53 mules so I convinced myself that the dealer had done so already.
If you had a lot of time and patience ebay would bring you a better return.

In over 50 years of collecting you are the only person I have ever seen refer to the '54s as Korean war coins. Where did you come up with this?

I've heard them referred to as Korean War Nickels before.

I think you should make it easy and say 4 times face so 20 cents each

Yeah, I've them being called that before too.

If you can get $20 for those, go for it I would say.

Here are the "Uglies", totaling at 90 nickels. Sell 'em for 7-8 cents a piece?
