Today was an epic coin roll hunting day for me!

While out and about today, taking care of a few errands here and there, the Christmas money I got from my mom was burning a hole in my pocket. So I decided to stop at a couple banks before heading home. At the first, I bought two boxes of pennies. At the second, I bought a box of pennies and a box of nickels.

The three boxes of pennies produced standard results...34 Wheaties, the oldest being a very worn 1919 and a like-new 1957.

The box of nickels stole the show today. From the very first roll, I knew this box would be special. How special was it? Well...

1 - 1994 Canadian nickel
1 - 25-Satang coin from Thailand
1 - 1938 nickel (first year)
10 - 1939 nickels
56 - War Nickels (1942-45, all "P")

I just could not believe it...roll after roll had silver! Only seven rolls in the whole box did not have at least one silver nickel in it!

That is a great way to start your New Year! Do you look for errors/varieties? Have you found any Hennings?

Were these customer wrapped rolls or machine wrapped rolls? With 56 silver coins were spread out over 43 rolls, it seems almost deliberate to put one or two in each roll! Awesome find. Check the 39s for DDR and mintmarks!

I bet this is because of a collection dump. If you still have that box, I'd go through again and look for error and varieties if you didn't do that carefully the first time!
Rest in Peace

I am mostly through a CRW box right now. Manoy banks put rolls that people bring in boxes.
