I was putting together a set of nice
Roosevelt dimes. I wanted them toned, but ocassionally I ended up buying some really nice white ones. Once I decided to put the white ones in a Wayte Raymond dime holder page and put them in a box on a shelf to see if they would develop a little color in a year or two so they'd fit into the collection. Ooops. That was 1987. I found them last year and some of them have the most amazing rainbow toning. Colors, concentric target toning, a couple ended up going too far and are a lustrous black. I wish I had bought some really nice more rare dimes to do this with as I probably could have made a lot of money. Unfortunately I do not have another 20 years to try it again.
