Hey everyone, Its been a long time since I've posted, but I've still been actively collecting. I got a bunch of nice coins and notes for Christmas, and in the lot was an American Silver Eagle, and a Canadian Maple leaf, I don't collect bullion coins right now, so I made a post for trade on Craigslist to trade the two for some American coins, (just to see what kind of offers I might get) I got a reply with someone willing to trade an 1880-0 Morgan, and a 1923-s Peace dollar, the condition of the Morgan is wasn't stated, but the Peace dollar was said to be very good condition. I already have a 1923-s Peace dollar, so I thought I might use it to trade for a date I don' have. What do you guys think of this trade? I'm thinking of going for it.

Ask to see pictures of the coins first. If they are circulated, then I would pass because they would only be worth melt and the bullion coins have more silver in them. If they are AU or unc. I would go for it.

Yes, I would only make that trade if the condition was nice on the Morgan.

I would make the trade IF the Morgan and Peace are in AU or better condition.

It is difficult to say without knowing what the coins look like but for reference, average circulated morgan and Peace dollars go for about $22 and $20 respectively on ebay.

Your BU UNC bullion coins are worth more than even AU silver dollars of common date. If you want to use them for 'trade', just sell them and buy what you want directly from a shop, you'll get the date, mint, and grade you want, and not whatever someone else wants to get rid of.

Remember that "very good" is a very generic term, especially from non collectors.
