The Dollar will be scrapped and the new currency will be called the "Trump" the lower denomination coins will be named 50, 25, 10 and 5 "Trumpets". The cent will be scrapped because the engravers wont be able to fit his swollen head on the coin

We don't get much political stuff around here, but this could end up being really funny!

serious question: with the Presidential dollar program, are they going to eventually issue one for every president, which would eventually include president-elect Trump, or do they have a certain cut off for the series? or perhaps they are sticking to the tradition of only minting coins depicting dead presidents? edit: woohoo this is my 4,000th post!

The Presidential dollar program ended with Reagan. As per the legislation, all eligible presidents have been represented. To issue any more would require new legislation.

Quite so. But with all respect to the Moderator and the noteworthy decorum on this site, I think we can all handle an occasional bit of humor about this remarkable world we live in. Personally, I think trout1105's quip was brilliant.

I agree. Keep in mind if I had a problem with it I would have removed it. My warning is just a general warning to keep it civil.

That toilet paper might make a decent April Fool's prank. As for what changes the Trump administration will make to the nation's coinage, there's no telling what he might do. It's very, very complicated, so he'll tell us at the time.

He could start off by eliminating the one cent coin and the paper dollar bill.

. Also, a new 50 cent piece would be nice. A new design for the dime as well.

The nickel and quarter aren't much better. But whatever the endless designs, these mass-produced current denominations in worthless metals will never have a true collector base.
