Taken from an auction, where the dealer described it as "extra fine". I'm made my own grading call, but I'd like to hear from Lincoln collectors. Also--do you think it's cleaned or not?

I'd go VF. 1910 wasn't a weak strike year, was it?

I'd also say VF and the only thing I see that says "cleaned" is the spot of corrosion on the reverse on STATES.

Thanks...I was thinking VF too, and possibly cleaned on the reverse.
I'm more familiar with IHCs, so I'm glad my advice to a friend was spot-on.

Kurt, for sure VF and some might go a little stronger. The reverse has been worked on, for sure. If you have ever removed the green meanies from a copper coin, underneath will be a rougher surface and will show reddish in color, exactly like what you see above the second "T" in states. This is immediately above the corrosion in the word States and I believe someone has been working to remove some of it. All things considered, a nice coin.

I'd go with VF30 on the reverse and possibly EF40 on the obverse... When it's close like this I generally lean towards the obverse grade... So I'd say a weak XF or strong VF... I'm also thinking that there might have been a bit of a cleaning to the reverse...

Long story short... I'd grade it a VF30...

For a coin almost a hundred years old, pretty nice

I agree with Thad, EF-40

The patina says, "cleaned" to me. I'm guessing acetone.
