I'm closer to XF40 .... likely cleaned at some point. The coin exhibits nice 'circulation cameo' on what is left of the original surfaces.

Extra Fine, details, cleaned. I also love that cameo. You might try pure acetone on those two obverse spots.

Quite a few of these halves went into circulation. This one is close to EF. The dark spot on Columbus' head is the major distraction. It is an inexpensive coin and value differences from VF to AU are small. This would make a nice pocket piece that you could pull out to show friends and acquaintances. Otherwise, just enjoy it and/or add it to your silver bullion pile!

Higher end VF for sharpness, but cleaned or more accurately, wiped with a cloth to brighten the devices, which is not a good thing.

VF-35 details, old cleaning. Amazing how inexpensive these are in this sort of grade.

Looks to be XF....probably would benefit from some time in acetone.
