I'm at EF-40 on this one.... small jewels are almost all but worn unless this was a weak strike...
then the luster is hardly in the fields with the exception of between the letters...

Definitely more than a thumb rub ..IMHO..
Someone with a Kleenex decided to remove the tarnish and rubbed all of the obverse until there wasn't any luster left in the fields...really too bad..
EF 45 because of it..

oh okay. So nothing chemical, just a lot rubbing will do that? just wondering because it looked like it was rubbed on the fields, but couldn't get between the letters. Good to know :)

Agree Devlec, I learned what you described the hard way And you don't need wipe hard either,it takes very little effort  Tlutz-A nice example regardless,a definite keeper (for now at least)
