1960 penny with odd marks. Is it worth adding to my collection? Whasidoes that mean it looks like an air bubble on the left but the other side is much bigger. Edited by hunt0808 01/31/2017 3:16 pm

Great pic. What does the other side look like? It does look like a drill bit was used on the right side of bust. John1

The back of the penny is not "off" in any way. It looks like air bubbles or something. It is very perfect divots. One is on the left and is very tiny and the one on the right is large. I will try to upload zoomed in images in a little while. Thanks!!

I just noticed the R in TRUST is very long (the line coming out from the R) I also inspected the back closer and did notice a slight imperfection from whatever that circle is. It is the same color as the penny inside of the indents and I see no signs of scraping from a drill or anything.

On the large hole,I can't tell for sure if it is round or conicle at the base of the hole. If conicle,a drill was used if not a BB may have been used. John1

The holes/dents are both damage. Damage always hurts the collector value of a coin.
The R I was referring to is the R in LIBERTY. It looks like a die chip there but I really can't tell from the images.

I don't want to disagree with anyone because you obviously know more than I do. The indents do not appear to be man made. The smaller of the two actually has a rim around it so it would have been impossible for a drill to make that mark. I do plan on getting it looked at I just don't know when. I did notice what you were saying about the R on the bottom of the coin but I also noticed the R in TRUST has a long arm coming from the R. Even if it is worthless it still means alot to me it is a pretty cool coin and I am happy to own it. Thank you for all of your feedback. If anyone knows something else I would still love to hear more!!

I don't think this would have happened at the mint, so I would call it, PMD
