Biedercoins Pillar of the Community United States 1601 Posts	Posted 01/31/2017 3:03 pm Just a little show and tell, today. Picked up this 1910 LW woodie the other day. It's been dipped at some point, so it was on the cheap. It's actually in pretty good condition, somewhere in the EF to AU range. Just thought it was cool and will put it into my FIDO box with some other woodies. Report this Post to the Staff

This would have been really cool with some luster on it. I think the cleaning would have been a while back and it's not always been taboo to ~~ruin~~ spruce up a coin's appearance from time to time. I've seen "woody-like" streaks on coins that have been harshly cleaned. On these, the woody effect was due to the cleaning and not due to an improper alloy mix. Lincoln Cent Lover!
