Any idea what would cause a coin to do this? The front of the coin is normal looking.

Has the coin been plated? It looks just like a cent that someone posted yesterday.

I updated the first post with a picture of the front. It doesn't look plated to me but I'm very new to coins so I could definitely be wrong. Front and back are very similar in color and look like the other franklins I have.
