Approximately how many coin shows have you attended during your time as a collector?
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I've only been to one small local show but I was so impressed by the wide variety of coins offered and the general atmosphere that I'm sure I'll be attending a lot more in the future.
Your thoughts?

I have been to F.U.N. 3 or 4 times, the Spartanburg coin show recently, and my local monthly show maybe 2-3 times per year for last 5 or so years.
EDIT - changed local show attendance numbers

Approximately? I'll say about zero. Of course, I would like to go to FUN but, limited funds and whatnot get in my way for the travel. Maybe if I can find a good state or national park nearby then I could camp out and have FUN, too! *I think I just found a reaonable excuse to go.*

At least one every month for the past couple years. Local shows are a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon and you make friends. Those big shows, 1-2 times a year.

I have been collecting for more than 45 years. In all that time I have been to maybe 15 to 20 shows. All of them have been small local shows. Since I live in The West it might be fun to spend a couple of hours at the Long Beach show and see everything.

I have to admit I've never been to a big national show . But there is a couple of small local shows by me that I have been going to on and off for the last 50 years . Too many to count !

I've been to two so far in my short time collecting coins. I definitely will be to more of them. Its a great way to get coins I wouldn't be able to get locally and the prices are a lot better than my two local coin dealers.

I've been going to shows off and on for the last 40+ years. Currently it's 3 shows per year but in the past it was more. I essentially skipped the 80's because of the skyrocketing price of silver then. So the bottom line is on the order of 50+ shows I've been to.

Hmm... Three local shows a year from 1986 to 2004. I know I missed a few here and there. Let us be conservative and call that 40. I took a break from the shows. In that interim it dropped form three to two per year. I started going again in spring 2008 (inspired after joining CCF) and have been to every one since. That is 19 consecutive shows. So, that is 59. Maybe 60. But more than 50, for sure.

I'd say about 8 or 9.
My first shows were at local coin shows in Tri-Cities / Richaland, WA. A couple friendly and helpful dealers there did much to incubate my interest in coins.
Now that I am living in FL, I've been to one in West Palm, which was kind of a cold crown and an overabundance of Morgans. I've been to one in Ft Myers that was smaller and mostly Morgans with a mix of friendly, cold, and could care less to be there dealers.
I have also been to FUN about 4 times and it is AMAZING. With so many dealers, it's a can't miss schmorgesborg of numismatics everything! I highly recommend it. I almost prefer the Summer version as its "smaller" size makes it a little more manageable, but its still a pretty full day.

I attended a handful when I was a kid in the 70s/80s, five or six, before my collecting hiatus.
Since picking the hobby up again a couple of years ago, I attended only one. I had planned on two more but the weather, my schedule, and my cash-on-hand did not all cooperate. There have been still others in the area but not close enough to warrant the drive through heavy traffic and toll bridges.

Good question and I am surprised by some of the responses. I have been to 4 shows and wasn't impressed by any of them. Very very little of my collection has been purchased from a coin show.
