I got back into collecting in a serious way four years ago. There is a show in my city, usually twice a year. I try to go to both but usually only buy one or two coins and sometimes none. Mostly just a fun morning for my adult son and I.

I would estimate that I've been to over 400 shows over the last 25 years - I like coin shows!

Everything from small club shows to larger state/regional shows to the very large national shows (i.e., ANA, FUN, Baltimore, Long Beach).

While the internet is certainly a great resource for many numismatic items, the value of coin shows remains strong IMO. Many of the best acquisitions and deals in my collection have come from coin shows - and I got to inspect them first hand and, in many cases, build a friendly relationship with the dealer in question.

I haven't purchased something at every coin show I've attended, but I've always enjoyed attending!

Same here.

There were many times I walked away empty handed, but I still like going.

GASP!! How did you manage that? I always seem to find a little trinket to bring home.

I typically attend 2-4/year depending on schedule and finances. I've only been to one large show though, turned out to be the last Whitman show they held in Philly.

I don't think I'm psychologically capable of attending a coin show and not buying something. I will usually try to buy something from every single dealer that has world/ancient coins for sale - which, around here, is about half of them.

As for the OP's question, I'd have to guess at around 100. I don't have exact figures but I'd reckon I've spent a large majority of my coin-buying money at coin shows - more than B&M coin dealer shops, Internet purchases and other sources, combined.

Sort of difficult to know for me. I've been going to coin shows from 2 to 4 times a Month for as long as I can remember. Possibly somewhere in the low thousands of times.

It happened more often in the past when I did not have the income or budget. I can say, however, that in every show since 2008 I have left with at least one coin.

I think I've been to 4 over the last 20 years, but I've never found any bargains. Most all of my shows have been just looking. However, I'm planning on attending one in August of this year in Houston, in hopes of getting my Chinese currency find graded.

"Back in the day" probably about 20 or so. None in the past 35 years until....today. Hopefully it won't be my last one.

I think 1 or 2 as a kid, then two last year. Hope to attend 2 or 3 this year.

I've been to 3 or 4 in the 3 years that I've been collecting. I live in a small city with no LCS so there is no coin club and no local shows. I've enjoyed the few I've been to.
