None of the labels on the graded coins can be read. If you want better pictures you have to ask. "Most coins are graded", yet the picture shows that most coins are not graded. I think I can make out a 1971 Kennedy half and perhaps two Eisenhower dollars. It is posted on the HOUSTON Craigslist site, but states "San Diego" with a California map embedded. There is a San Diego, TX, but it is about 250 miles from Houston, TX.

Ask for better pics. If they refuse, forget about it. This post made me think about a thread I started not too long ago. I requested pics and they refused. Just checked it and the listing expired. I bumped it up for viewing.

Craigslist often hopes for someone greedy with cash. Once they have you in their sights, regardless of how or where they reeled you in, you won't make it home with as much value as you left home with.

Worse, they sometimes use the knowledge that you collect coins (stamps, sports cards, guns, whatever) to pass your name and other info (your license plate, etc.) to criminal associates who mark you as a prime suspect for burglary or robbery in the future.

Again I will relate my 2 experiences with Craigsfist in my local area. I was selling bulk bags of Wheat cents, asking cash or "certifiable" check/MO. Meeting were at the Subway inside the Lowe's store, quite visable and camera monitored. First response was a no show, no return of calls afterward. Second time character sat down, noticed my disability (COPD/O2) and stated "I think I'll just take those from you"...my response while holding my P3AT under the table was "yea, minus your pride and joy"! Situation resolved. Never have tried that again and never will, Craigslist is far too dangerous in today's insane world. Besides, some of those coins as described, isn't there something about The Antiquities Act, the raw coins must be suspected and I am assuming are not quite legit, stolen or illegally acquired by diver.

Yeah, right. Lets meet in an alley somewhere. I'll bring about 22 thousand in cash.

I'm not bragging, but I successfully bought off CL for about 10 years. I stopped for a couple of reasons, but one can never be too careful. I always told sellers that I had a CHL, and that I was carrying for both their protection and mine. I only had one situation that I drove off not feeling comfortable, it was probably nothing, but I wasn't going to find out. There were dozens of calls that I did not return. Every time I spoke with someone that was buying or selling, that I wasn't involved with, I always reminded them to be careful. I made most of my transactions in the lobby of local branches of my bank. I had one shady guy, come to find out, that had coins from a theft at a Traders Village. I turned the seller that I passed on, over to the proper authorities. I spoke to the dealer, but I don't know if they ever arrested anyone, the detective told me how hard it was to trace coins.

I've had good transactions on CL, just choose a safe location and I've never run into any trouble.
