That is crazy! Why would PCGS not respond or even do anything about it?!

I would not believe much of anything on that website. You can put anything you want on there.

I will say that that is probably just garbage.

OK, PCGS is going to take this guy's fee, switch the $47,000 coin for a $61 coin, identify and grade the $61 coin and put it in a slab with that label, then stick a peel off label on top with the identity and grade of a $47,000 coin. This is so ludicrous and I can see why PCGS didn't give this guy the time of day. Oh, and his whole case hinges on THIS photo?

I contacted PCGS and sent them the link to the story. They responded that there was absolutely no truth to the allegations.

Complete and utter nonsense, that guy is a nutter of the first degree He is apparently convinced that he possessed one of the very few 1964 SMS Kennedys in existence but I would say that it is a pretty safe bet that he has a normal proof Kennedy. It is also absurd to think any legitimate lending institution would accept a 1964 Kennedy half dollar as collateral for a loan.

Opinions come from feelings not intellect. Is this gentlemen the only person ever to claim that he was ripped off by PCGS?. As always I will sit on the fence until more will be revealed.

There are certified Special strikes of 1964 coins. Some are in the Natl' collections. IMO, this is some fellow who thought he had one and it was worth a fortune. If he has some before images that should prove his coin was returned and not switched.
I heard a similar claim about some ancients that were switched at ANACS. Apparently the correct coins were returned to the owner and the "error" was corrected.
