Does anyone know if this set will be released? If it is, when?

I believe it will be released between July and September. The mint has not released a better date yet.

I'm beginning to wonder if the 2017 Coin and Currency Set is going to happen. The 2016 set is still on sale. It had a maximum mintage of 75k of which 48,370 have been sold. The US mint website has the 2016 marked as "limited", but I don't know what that means. Hopefully it means they really only made 50k because at this point 75k would likely represent several years of product remaining to be sold. Given the sluggish sales of the 2016 C&C set (relative to the maximum mintage) and the fact that there already is a 2017 enhanced uncirculated dollar in the 2017 enhanced uncirculated set that just came out, are they going to move forward with a 2017 C&C set? It's getting pretty late in the year and the mint seems to have filled out their product schedule which doesn't show a 2017 C&C set. Thoughts?

I think it went on sale 8/1, it was called the 225th Mint Anniversary Enhanced Mint Set.

I agree. The allure of the Coin & Currency set was the exclusive EU Native American dollar. The NA dollar in a hypothetical 2017 C&C set would not be exclusive.

Except this is the U.S. Mint. 1) It doesn't have to make business sense. In fact, the less sense it makes, the more likely it is. 2) It doesn't have to make collector sense, either in how offered or how many minted. In fact, the less sense it makes, the more likely it is.

Well, there you go... There is a lot of 2017 left. I suppose anything is possible.

As far as over-saturating the market... at $15 (assuming these hypothetical sets would go for the same as they did last year), these are not expensive and I expect many people would purchase a 2017 set.

I have bought 1 set each year, and if they are offered I will again. Hopefully they will be available this year but in a smaller mintage.

As long as edge lettering on dollars exists I won't be buying any.
