14,285 sold on day 1, which is about 14% of the 100k. This issue will be around for a while.

@Troy White

Corn rows? Now I know you are pulling my leg because we both know they arent corn rows lol

They are braids and the US Mint dropped the ball on the braids, thats probably the worst part of the coin, followed by the "stars". Outside of those two items, I think the coin is pretty good.

The eagle looks great! The US Mint is on point with their eagles as of late.

Hey if people like these coins, excellent, collectors should buy what they like, I for one wont be getting this coin but that doesn't mean I want to tell someone how or what to collect.

Yup, you got me... It cracks me up the way we need to dance around on many of
these new "coins."

"Hey if people like these coins, excellent, collectors should buy what they like, I for one wont be getting this coin but that doesn't mean I want to tell someone how or what to collect." I agree with this 100%.

Finally, I really dislike this coin and everything it stands for. I think Liberty was just fine as an African American on the Double Eagle. (or was she? it does not matter because the coin was made to unify, not segment and divide...)

All right, spare me the yawns, but my coin just arrived today. It came in an impressively (some might argue obnoxiously) large box, complete with a 50-page, hard-bound, full-color souvenir booklet giving the history of Lady Liberty on U.S. coins. The official pictures provided by the mint don't do the proof surfaces justice, so I purposely photographed the coin in such a way as to maximize the affect:

I still think the star crown is dorky, but overall I like the coin.

I think that is a star headband, not a crown. A crown would sit on top of the head.

Thanks for the pics! The headband doesn't look as good as I imagined from the earlier pictures, but everything else looks really nicely detailed.

I will not yawn. I will drool.

I like the coin, I just cannot afford it.

I will be buying the silver flavours, even if there are four of them.

To get things back on track, here is a video the mint had released showing the new $100 liberty coins being produced which is pretty cool!
