"My question to you is, is this "seller" a member of this forum? OR is it a place such as
ebay? If
ebay, gripe there." ... " If you want to learn and share, here's the place. If you seek something else, well, don't let the door hit ya on the way out..."
Well, #1 first annd foremost I am a hardcore historian in regard to my interest in coin collecting and numismatics. I am not a 'flipper' nor concerned about what the marketplace dictates as value. But I am definitely interested in place to share my own and view others experiences on the marketplace relating to reliable sellers. I do think it vital and important.
#2 I am concerned about two major things beyond the discourse in the usual elements of the hobby and research: Freedom on Speech and information about sellers and the marketplace in regard to a safety and integrity.
I find zero reason, absolutely, that a forum would frown upon any information, opinion or shared experience, period.
To answer your question - "was the seller in question an
ebay seller?" Not that I am aware of. "..a member, here?" No idea, are you worried it might be you? Are they operating on an alternative marketplace seemingly run as a platform and a guise to 'protect coin collectors"' YES. Are all the sellers bad? Of course not. Are there bad ones who are operate fraudulently, ex. one said seller that I ran across some 'shared experiences' here in a locked thread from 7 years ago via a popular search engine, that are still operating 2017? YES. I have proof on all accounts. I would like to warn people, if not eventually after fulfilling whatever forum requirements? Have I participated in running forums before as an admin. YES. I understand all concerns and common sense practices. But I disagree with censorship pertaining to the topic at hand here for a coin collecting, buying, numismatics type forum.
If I bother to invest my time and energy in a forum, I would like to be able to both voice and participate in such threads to share experiences without censorship or disapproval per a 'forum policy.' In a free forum, the burden or proof or statement would be up to the reader to either take the experience, advice or statements with as a valid warning, disregard or take with a grain of salt. ETC.
So if the consensus here by group or by forum admins on my specific "WANT" I am bothering to discuss now is not considered a valid "share" then I will close the door and not bother.
I take coin buying seriously and if I by experience can confirm with fact and proof that they on supposedly a [unnamed] marketplace with endorsements that WILL fool people into false security and then if even the operators do nothing about it, I would like to warn people.
And frankly, if it's
ebay, a seller's own website, a forum, or another marketplace - that should be OK as well in my opinion. Your attitude towards 'gripe there' is ridiculous in my opinion. My question to you is: why would you have a problem? Are you selling there in a fraudulent manner or fan of frauds who list and sell coins deceptively (even if proven in a 7 year period of opertaion that can be substantiated with hard proof)? Or perhaps you just don't want negativity, or it is in your own best interest to discourage collectors monitoring the environment and diverse marketplaces that interact with, or you are just pro-censorship on the topic?
I take your attitude as an attack, obviously, politely telling me to get lost. I guess the 'locked thread' tells me that it is not welcome here after all and I should get lost.

"Welcome to CCF. Are you a Fan of Star Trek, The Simpsons, Blake's 7, or all three?"
Very perceptive. I like the old TOS Star Trek although not a Trekkie. Never really watched the Simpsons. Would drink a Duff beer though. Blake's 7 - Roj-er!
PS. I guess it is BYE already, although I will check back and if I hear support and that it is accepted to "share" important marketplace experiences in addition to my serious numismatic and research interests (these go hand-in-hand if you are serious about coin collecting, buying and safeguarding the coin collector and researcher environment), maybe I will stick around. Locked thread and being 'attacked' off the bat by a member (in that subtely sweet polite manner) is a bad sign.
Thanks for the welcomes, otherwise. The question is? Is this a serious coin forum that values integrity, valid coins and research and aims in all manners to be helpful for coin enthusiasts out there?
SO. I leave it to you starship 'Coin Community,' please pick an answer, multiple choice: A) "Live Long and Prosper, and Make It So", B) "I'm A Doctor, Not A... Highly Illogical", or C) "Beam Kerr Avon Up, Scotty?" [There is only one correct answer]
