Hi guys! Picked this up this weekend. I'm thinking mid-upper AU no-FB. (Lots of luster, just hard to photograph.)

Again ,this post is solely meant to help young numismatics learn the different stages of the hobby . Hopefully the Mercury dime experts will chime in on this , giving further information .

AU58 and I agree with T-BOP on FSB. its important for grading to know what the standards are for various designations. this will help folks in their endeavors to progress in the their grading skills.

I don't feel the need to educate you. Only the center bands need to be split for the fb designation. I have previously given you a reference to TPG standards that clearly state this. I would like to see where you find the published grading standard that supports your grading standard.

This is where I disagree in TPG practice with FB designation, if there was 2 same MS grade and one has nearly full strike vs one that have weaker strike in the band area at top and bottom. I would for sure not label it FB to the one that doesn't have it split top and bottom.

When it comes to Fully Split Bands, I want all bands to be split, no matter what TPG companies say.

I respect your opinions. I differ with the TPGs too from time to time. I just object to someone "educating" me on their opinion as if it were an actual grading standard like an earlier poster tried to do.
