The coin/token is very large and very thick (twice as thick as a Morgan dollar I would say).

Just curious if anybody can identify it.

What's on the other side?

The design is "etched", similar to "love token" lettering where an actual coin is modified by flattening one side. Show a side view, maybe comparing to a quarter or half.

@SOB, I agree that having a pic of the other side would be useful. Also, exact diameter and thickness would help.

There are larger copper coins than US Cents (e.g. 5 Kopek coins of the second half of 1700s Russia).

Just a guess, but possibly a weight for a scale. The style of the engraving suggests a mid to late 19th c. origin, Spencerian cursive (note the looped middle of the 3 and the fact that the top part of the numeral curves back in upon itself whereas the bottom does not), embellishment on the thick strokes. The marks surrounding the edge and directly right of the 3 may have been adjustment of the weight.

Maybe it's a deliberately worn Cartwheel with an E for Esmerelda? A love token?
Whole lotta love.

Is it smaller around than a Morgan?

If it's the same size around 'm going to say a Russian 1700's 5 kopeck. But could be a British 2 penny. But can't say with any level of confidence
