I'm not sure what you're asking. It looks to be a completely normal 2015 Roosevelt dime.

See, it's brown its not anything like on the web I've search and it's not damaged it doesn't even have a scratch so my question is what could make it be brown and all that I mean it's kind of obvious that it's not your normal Jefferson Dime.

It's most likely spent some time in the ground. Clad coins, when in contact with soil, like to turn these deep shade of brown. I've got a couple dimes and a quarter that are just this color.

Metal detectorists confirm this.

Hi jjb2123, the most likely explanations are that the coin has either suffered environmental damage as Biedercoins mentioned, or, as John1 is probably trying to ascertain, the coin is missing its clad layers and just ended up struck on the copper core. I'm leaning toward environmental damage on this one.

Better pictures, if you can get some, would help us figure this out, especially if you want opinions on the grade of the coin.

For future reference, the subforum for modern varieties and errors is a good place to ask questions like this so that it receives proper attention from folks who are really into that. Here's the link: http://goccf.com/f/5

Hope that helps, and welcome to the forum. =)

2.3 grams is normal weight for a dime, unlikely the outer clad layer is missing.

Sorry guys but I'm with (nfine) on this one because of the weight and the guys from my local coin shops agree that this Dime is not damaged but they can't quite put a finger on it. But I have some more pictures il post in a few.

If it was missing both obverse and reverse clad it would weigh noticeably less. A pic of the edge might help some.

There are some very knowledgeable folks giving you the benefit of their experience on your Jefferson dime, who bears a striking resemblance to Franklin Roosevelt by the way. Sure, they're not always right but in this case I think they've come up with the most likely scenario to explain your coin.

I've put coins in the oven to see what would happen to them and they usually turn out to be this color. Perhaps that's what happened to yours?
